About the blog

Another parent blog about how hard they work and how amusing their children are blah blah blah? In some respects, yes (just a little bit). In others, no. Think of it more as the blog of someone who was once intelligent but after years of working in an office and watching too much TV needed to get her brain into gear again. It’s not a day-by-day account of my life – believe me that would be dull. Crumbs & Pegs is about the things that inspire me enough to put fingertips to keyboard – my life as a parent, rants, current affairs, sexism, great products – and all generally with a dash of wicked humour. And lest you should think ‘crumbs’ and ‘pegs’ suggests the musings of a domestic goddess, it’s more lofty than that:

All our words are but crumbs that fall down from the feast of the mind – Kahlil Gibran

All words are pegs to hang ideas on – Henry Ward Beecher

Whether these quotes inspire you or make you reach for the bag labelled ‘sick’, I hope you enjoy the blog.

  1. Hello – since someone was nice enough to give me a Versatile Blogger Award (clearly someone who hasn’t met me), I feel duty bound to pass that on. Here’s the link, and if I’ve done this right it will explain everything in words which I have faithfully cut and pasted (thereby proving my versatility).
Whether or not you choose to follow this up (and it’s taken me, as a rookie, ages to do it) I do mean it, as I enjoy your blog very much.

  2. Hello there, I came across you via your post re Vicky A, a friend of mine. When I read your About I thought, ooh, that’s so like my blog and the reason i write one (www.everyoneelseisnormal.com). Are you a St Albans blogger (am guessing so – if so you must’ve been at the Bakehouse. I was there laughing louder than anyone else I think!). Anyway, just thought I’d drop you a line to say hello!

    1. Hello! Yes, I was indeed at the Bakehouse (and a St Albanite). Second row – my big head in all the video shots! I used to live in the same street at Vicky (and did Pitter Patter) which is how I know her. I’ve just subscribed to your blog so look forward to reading it. Thanks for saying hello!
